1901 FOB/ Medal Norwich CEYMS who formed Norwich City FC one year later;

Near Mint Condition.
Best description from my research till now (though I could be wrong)
 
The NCFA stands for Norfolk County Football Association and the CC for County Cup.
 
The NORWICH CEYMS club is affiliated with the Norfolk County Football Association.
 
On 21st September 1901, NORWICH CEYMS played in the Primarily Round of The Challange Cup (Later the FA CUP)
 
Norwich CEYMS 18–0 Bury St Edmunds
 
In the qualifying round
They drew Norwich CEYMS 1–1 Lowestoft Town 5th October 1901 and were beaten in the replay Lowestoft Town 5–0 Norwich CEYMS 10th October 1901
 
CEYMS won the Norfolk Senior Cup three times in a row between 1900 and 1902. Frustrated by a perceived lack of ambition, in 1902, the team's captain (Robert Webster) and vice-captain (Joseph Cowper Nutchey) left to form a new club, Norwich City, Norwich City F.C. was formed after a meeting at the Criterion Café in Norwich on 17 June 1902 and played their first competitive match against Harwich & Parkeston at Newmarket Road on 6 September.
 
Interestingly the fan's anthem "On the Ball City" was first used by CEYMS before being adopted by Norwich City Football Club.

What a lovely medal!  
 
We guess that the CC stands for County Cup rather than Challenge Cup, as the Challenge Cup was an FA-run competition and so NCFA wouldn’t have supplied the medals.  CEYMS won the Norfolk Senior Cup Final 3 times in a row from 1899
So we would guess this is a winner's medal from their 1900-01 win over Lynn Town.

Interestingly it is the Norwich badge used on the medal rather than the Norfolk one we use now.
